Why the rule works this way
Operators are contracted per mission, so the same city can host three different centres for three destinations. Always start from the destination's official page rather than a general VFS list.
In Kolkata, France applications are handled through VFS Global around Park Street and Salt Lake. Kolkata is the consular hub for eastern and north-eastern India, so the counter applies this rule strictly. The rule above is set by Embassy of France in India and does not change between Indian cities — only the queue length and centre address do.
